He established Chakavak Ensemble in 1998 in Iran. While in Iran, he was actively involved in a number of concerts namely in Sharif University and Vahdat Hall. He has studied different renditions of the “radif” (repertoire) of Persian classical music including “Agha-hosseingholi”, “Mirza-abdollah”, and advanced repertoire (radif-é aali) of “Master Shahnazi”. He has played tar and setar (long necked Persian lutes) since 1989, under the instruction of maestro Dariush Pirniakan, maestro Hamid Reza Manbachi, a Persian-Canadian musician and composer, was born in Tehran, 1980.
